On my way to the Swatches!

So after a long long journey of researching and making the boards, I am finally entering into the Phase-2 of Module-3. In this, you'll find me making a few swatches which would ultimately lead to my final product. There's still a long way to go, I guess!

For the process of swatch making, we were first asked to think and jot down the final essence of our topic that we believe reflects our topic the best. So below is a glimpse from my visual diary where I did a bit of brain storming and came up to the final conclusion.

This is what it was- POWER!

I look forward to posting a few doodles of my inspiration for my upcoming swatches. See you soon!

Material Board!

The last board is the Material Board.
A material board is the reflection of which material is gonna be used in our final product.

In this board, I have used all the material that I used or even planned to use. While picking up my material, I basically focused on the snake and its properties, and also on the colour scheme that I planned to follow. Some of the material that I have used is leather, jute rope, glitter borders, golden chain, sequins, gemstones, and feathers.

Also, I have used a different kind of fabric which gives a feel of snake texture and painted it green and brown.

Have a look and tell me what you guys think! :D

Visual Diary!

Hello again!
So now I am gonna upload a few pictures of my Visual Diary. (Because a blog isn't the only thing that we had to do for our projects.)
Although I am not yet completely through my diary, here is a glimpse from it.
Hope you like it, and also, I'd love to hear any advice which could help me improve it. :)

Colour Board!

The next board if the most vibrant one. It's the Colour Board!

A colour board consists of one or many colours which are going to be used in the final product. It may consist of one or more images.

It was an interesting task to make this board, since I had to pick out the main colours which I was going to use in my final swatches and product. Quite evidently, I mainly focused on the greens and the browns. Apart from them, I have even used some blues. I then tried to arrange their tints and shades appropriately to make it look a bit balanced as a whole. I have also put the pictures from which I pulled out the colours on the sides.

So here is my Colour Board. Like it, okay?

Mood Board!

The third board is the Mood Board.
A mood board is typically a collage of images, fonts, objects, and textures that define the style of the project. It serves as a tool to quickly inform others of the overall "feel" of the proposed idea.

Okay, so this turned out to be my favourite board from all the 5 boards. You must be wondering what's so special about it.
The answer isn't that philosophical. It's just the fact that I got a chance to discover so much more that just plain snakes. I could add pictures of a snake's scale-like texture, of waves looking like flowing snakes, and of papers arranged in the form of a snake's body.
So basically, the diversity of the pictures made this to be my favourite board.

Here is my Mood Board. Hope you guys like it too!

Inspiration Board!

The next board is the Inspiration Board.
Theoretically, an Inspiration Board is more specific and visual. A collection of visual references that are the starting point for elements that will eventually show up in the designed product.

If that went over your head, it is basically a board where we put direct pictures related to our topic and our inspiration. In my case, I have put the pictures of Medusa, highlighting every interesting component of her form. For instance, her terrifying nails, her head full of snake-hair, her large blue eyes etc. I have also tried to make this board as beautiful and as frightening as possible!

Here you go. Have a look!
